Do I know how? No, I don’t know how.’” [HuffPost, 2/25/22]

VIDEO: Greene Said QAnon Was “Better Than The News.” According to the Roseanne Barr podcast via a tweet from Heartland Signal, “BARR: You used to follow Q or talk about Q. GREENE: Yeah, I did. BARR: I love you for that, because they’re trying to shut us all up who know something else. GREENE: Oh yeah, that’s right. BARR: And we do know it. So, eff it. GREENE: I thought it was better than the news.” [Roseanne Barr Podcast via Twitter, @HeartlandSignal, 1/4/24]
The QAnon Conspiracy Theory Claimed That Trump Had A Plan To Take Down A Global Satanic Pedophile Ring Involving Many Prominent Left-Wing Figures. According to Rolling Stone, “QAnon is the baseless conspiracy theory that Donald Trump is lying in wait to bust a deep state pedophile ring made up of prominent left-wing figures, such as Hillary Clinton. The theory is inextricably linked to far-right extremism as well as anti-Semitism. Despite its lack of grounding in reality, QAnon has been gaining prominence in the past year thanks in large part to the dog-whistling of President Trump and the co-opting of the #SaveTheChildren campaign, an anti-trafficking movement.” [Rolling Stone, 11/3/20]
January 2018: Greene Called Q “A Patriot” Who Had “Obvious Intelligence Beyond The Normal Person.” Greene According to Rolling Stone, “Greene started supporting QAnon fairly early on in the evolution of the conspiracy theory. In January 2018, as a contributor to the fringe website American Truth Seekers, Greene wrote glowingly about QAnon: ‘Recently, there has been a lot of chatter in small circles among those who search for the truth,’ she wrote. ‘There has been an anonymous voice, with obvious intelligence beyond the normal person telling of things to come. They call themselves Q. Make no mistake, Q is a patriot.’ She has also frequently posted the QAnon slogan ‘WWG1WGA,’ or ‘where we go one, we go all.’” [Rolling Stone, 11/3/20]

Greene Claimed That A 2018 California Wildfire Was Started By A Space Laser Triggered By A Nefarious Group Of People. According to Media Matters, “In November 2018, California was hit with the worst wildfire in the state’s history. At the time, future Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) wrote a bizarre Facebook post that echoed QAnon conspiracy theorists and falsely claimed that the real and hidden culprit behind the disaster was a laser from space triggered by some nefarious group of people. […] Conspiracy theorists have pushed other explanations for the Camp Fire, especially on social media. One theory, which has been promoted by QAnon followers, falsely posits that a nefarious entity used laser beams or a similar instrument to start the fire for financial profit or to clear space for California’s high-speed rail system.” [Media Matters, 1/28/21]

Greene Supported And Spread The Camp Fire Laser Beam Conspiracy Theory Because There Were “Too Many Coincidences To Ignore” Regarding The Fire. According to Media Matters, “Rep. Greene is a proponent of the Camp Fire laser beam conspiracy theory. She wrote a November 17, 2018, Facebook post -- which is no longer available online -- in which she said that she was speculating ‘because there are too many coincidences to ignore’ regarding the fire, including that then-California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) wanted to build the high-speed rail project and ‘oddly there are all these people who have said they saw what looked like lasers or blue beams of light causing the fires.’ She also speculated that a vice chairman at ‘Rothschild Inc, international investment banking firm’ was somehow involved, and suggested the fire was caused by a beam from ‘space solar generators.’” [Media Matters, 1/28/21]

Greene’s version has instead updated the theory by giving the Rothschilds possession of a secret, powerful space laser.” [New York, 1/28/21]

Greene Supported A 9/11 Conspiracy Theory That Claimed There Was No Evidence Of The Plane That Hit The Pentagon. It's odd there's never any evidence shown for a plane in the Pentagon.’” [Media Matters, 8/13/20]
Greene: “We Had Witnessed 9/11, The Terrorist Attack In New York And The Plane That Crashed In Pennsylvania And The So-Called Plane That Crashed Into The Pentagon. It's Odd There's Never Any Evidence Shown For A Plane In The Pentagon.” According to Media Matters, “Media Matters found another video featuring Greene in which she pushed conspiracy theories. […] During the video, Greene discussed the 9/11 attacks and stated, ‘We had witnessed 9/11, the terrorist attack in New York and the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania and the so-called plane that crashed into the Pentagon. It's odd there's never any evidence shown for a plane in the Pentagon. But anyways, I won't -- I'm not going to dive into the 9/11 conspiracy. But 9/11 had happened. Our country was very much into a war. We had invaded Iraq looking for weapons of mass destruction that we never found at that time. We were basically destabilizing the Middle East.’ The claim that there was ‘never any evidence’ of a plane hitting the Pentagon is a refrain of 9/11 conspiracy theories. In reality, video and photographic evidence show a plane hit the Pentagon.” [Media Matters, 8/13/20]

Greene Agreed With A Comment That Claimed The 9/11 Attacks Were “Done By Our Own Gov.” According to Media Matters, “In the comments section, someone responded: ‘True they are fused by the bonds of mutual criminal treason.’ Someone later replied by claiming that ‘911 was done by our own Gov’; that the Parkland school shooting was actually ‘a deep state warning to the pocket puppets in the house and senate’ and ‘fake’; that ‘none of the School shootings were real or done by the ones who were supposedly arrested for them, They are just the image of the shooting’; and that Sandy Hook was a ‘STAGGED [sic] SHOOTING,’ among other conspiracy theories. Greene liked the post pushing those various conspiracy theories. She also wrote in the thread: ‘That is all true. By the way, I’ve seen the Georgia guide stones.’” [Media Matters, 1/21/21]

Green Agreed With A Conspiracy Theory Comment That A Retirement Pension For Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy Scot Peterson Was “A Pay Off To Keep His Mouth Shut Since It Was A False Flag Planned Shooting.” According to Media Matters, “The shooting also resulted in conspiracy theories, including the claim that it was a ‘false flag’ event -- an incident that is either faked or planned by someone other than the actual perpetrator -- to take away people’s guns. Those toxic claims were especially spread through right-wing and social media. Greene, now a member of Congress, was one of those people who spread such claims on Facebook. In May 2018, she posted a story about disgraced Broward County sheriff’s deputy Scot Peterson receiving a retirement pension. In the comments section, someone wrote: ‘It’s called a pay off to keep his mouth shut since it was a false flag planned shooting.’ Greene replied: ‘Exactly.’” [Media Matters, 1/19/21]

Hundreds of terrified parents arrived as their sobbing children were led out of the Sandy Hook Elementary School in a wooded corner of Newtown, Conn. By then, all of the victims had been shot and most were dead, and the gunman, identified as Adam Lanza, had committed suicide. The children killed were said to be 5 to 10 years old.” [New York Times, 12/14/12]

I've got a question for you. How do you get avid gun owners and people that support the Second Amendment to give up their guns and go along with anti-gun legislation?’ Greene asked in an Oct. 5, 2017, video posted on the Facebook page of a group called American Truth Seekers.” [Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 7/23/19]

Is That What’s Going On Here?” According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “Four days later, wearing a ‘Don’t tread on me’ ball cap, Greene mused about the possibility that the Las Vegas massacre was a massive conspiracy intended to help pass gun control measures. ‘Is that why the country music festival was targeted — because those would be the people that we would relate to? Are they trying to terrorize our mindset and change our minds on the Second Amendment? Is that what’s going on here?’ she asked.” [Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 7/23/19]
Greene Said She Thought The Gunman Did Not Act Alone Because She Did Not “Believe That He Pulled This Off All By Himself.” According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “‘I have a lot of questions about that. I’m glad to see your comment. I’ve decided it’s time to start doing a lot more videos and engage further in the fight. Most people honestly don’t know so much. The [mainstream media] disinformation warfare has won for too long!’” [Media Matters, 1/26/21]

According to the New York Times Magazine, “Greene’s argument was that the ‘Russian collusion conspiracy lies’ had created a kind of permission structure in her mind. As she would say on the House floor, ‘I was allowed to believe things that weren’t true.’ In this passive-voice explanation, Greene was ‘allowed to believe’ that a Democratic staff member named Seth Rich had been murdered by Hillary Clinton’s top adviser, John Podesta, in order to cover up the fact that it was Rich, not Russia, who had leaked Democratic emails to WikiLeaks.” [New York Times Magazine, 10/17/22]

Ten months later, the case remains unsolved, though Washington police have said they believe it was likely a botched robbery. But the investigator, a man named Rod Wheeler, backtracked on his claims the next day, and the Rich family has sent him a cease-and-desist letter, saying their son was not WikiLeaks’ source. Even so, some right-wing pundits continue to peddle this conspiracy, most prominently on Fox News. Among them are host Sean Hannity and former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich.” [PolitiFact, 5/23/17]

They want to know if you’re eating a cheeseburger, which is very bad because Bill Gates wants you to eat his fake meat, which is grown in a peach tree dish.’” [Independent, 5/30/22]
